Pastor Search

banner

After 17 years, our beloved Pastor Bob has chosen to retire. We are currently searching for a new Pastor for our church. While our Pastor search is taking place, we are happy welcome our new Interim Pastor Josh Wilson!

The pastor we seek is a true disciple of Christ whose life has been forever changed by God’s Word and Holy Spirit. He has been called by God to share the words and teachings of Christ. In addition to administering baptisms and communion, and conducting weddings and funerals, he will lead us to greater spiritual growth and understanding.

The pastor we seek works patiently with all ages and is a mentor to all who serve the Lord. He ministers to the sick, shut-ins, dying and bereaved. Our pastor must be approachable and available to counsel members of the congregation. He demonstrates the ability to provide true and meaningful direction to individuals and the congregation as a whole. He should also possess the ability to bring agreement or compromise out of dissension without necessarily choosing sides, maintaining the doctrinal precepts of God’s church.

The pastor we seek is a good communicator having the ability to convey his sermon to his congregation with a clear interpretation of what is written in the Bible.

The pastor we seek is well organized and is able to share the leadership of the church with the congregation. He works with the youth director(s) to encourage and challenge them to bring new programs for our youth and a greater understanding about Jesus Christ and the world today. He maintains contact with inactive members and encourages church growth. As the face of the church he creates and maintains strong working relationships with all members of the clergy in the community.

Lastly, the pastor we seek is of high moral and ethical character. He feels free to smile and laugh, to express joys and sorrows, shortcomings and concerns and to share in ours. He teaches us to be humble and forgiving as we move forward in Christ. Above all he prayerfully seeks God’s wisdom and assistance in every situation.

Mainers like to say when giving directions, “You can't get there from here”...or more accurately, “You can't get they-ahh from hee-yahh.” The children of Israel must have thought that, journeying through the wilderness to the promised land. It had been a long, grueling journey. Someone ... Read More
